Sold to Sweden

General discription

New in our showroom now!

Ultra rare Dodge Challenger RT/SE ( JS code) 440-six-pack 4 speed! In the ultimate high impact color, HEMI orange with black leather interior and black vinyl top. The car is numbers matching, is very original and highly detailed! Super rare, Highly collectible and a great investment grade car. It is more or less a survivor car with a repaint done recently. A combination that's highly wanted because it combines the best of the classic old-school cars in an as new looking condition. Seeing this car was well maintained for all these years it kept most of its original parts.

And the feel of this car and the way it drives is amazing which is unique to survivor style cars. The SE package that was added on the options list when the first owner ordered his new car added, besides a considerably higher total car price, a black vinyl top with a more sporty and smaller rear window, comfortable real leather seats! and a special overhead console and special emblems. Things that made these special cars even more special and it also added additional comfort and style. The price tag of this car was almost the same as its Hemi 426 sister car

One of only 134 RT/SE 4 speed six-packs ever build!

And in this color combination, and with these options this car is a true 1 of 1 car ever build !. Something that was confirmed on paper by the famous Galen Govier. Its loaded with rare options and the car has only 26000 original miles on the speedo. Super cool car. And its 1 of 83 RT/SE sixpack cars known in existence today

Yes a classic dodge challenger is already a car you almost never come across, and if the car is an RT that's even rarer. But finding an RT with the highly desirable SE package. a 440 sixpack engine a 4 speed and dana track pack axle. Is something most of us will never get the change of seeing ever. This car has it all and is a super investment grade car. The only more desirable car might be the 426 Hemi cars, but the will cost up to 200% more than this car. But a 4 speed 440-six-pack car was faster on the streets and tracks than the 426 Hemi with automatic trans, as stated in several 70's car tests and articles.

One of the cars other great features is that its a super original car, with its original engine and transmission and rear axle still in place, but it also has its original body and frame and all the factory stampings and vin numbers are in place. The interior of the car is mostly original as well, with the only new items being leather seat covers by legendary, which are exact reproductions of the originals. All the original options and specs are still with or on the car. How rare is that?

The body is completely rust free and straight, the high impact Hemi orange ( EV2) paint is amazing, and the black vinyl RT/SE top is also in as new and original condition, even the underside of the car is ultra clean and highly detailed with all the correct components. Even the exhaust system is original with its specific RT end tips. It appears all body and floor panels are original to the car. Previous owners told us the mileage of the car is original with only 26000 miles on the odometer and we have all the reason to believe that's correct. We tested and approved the engine and transmission and they are still in as a new original condition. Therefore this car drives amazing and just like it left the factory almost 50 years ago.

The 440 sixpack engines are well known for there power and in combination with a manual 4 speed its one of the best engine/driveline combinations of the whole muscle car era. As you might know, a 4-speed car brings up to 30+% more power to the rear axle than an automatic transmission car, which means its just way more powerful and faster than the auto trans equipped cars. Besides that, driving a manual trans 4-speed car also brings much more fun and feel to a powerful car such as this.

And the fact that Dodge equipped these cars with a genuine and unique Hurst pistol grip floor shifter, gives, even more, fun and a great feel.
We personally love the E body platform that Chrysler marketed in the late 60's and early 70's. Both Plymouth and Dodge used the same platform to build there all new muscle car with. And where Plymouth developed the Barracuda, Dodge used the platform to develop the Challenger on. And although both cars used the E body platform, almost nobody parts or any other part for that matter can be swapped with each other. They were both unique cars and only shared some engine and driveline specs.

The Challenger is also 2 inches longer than the Barracuda. The looks of the 2 cars are also completely different and although they both look fantastic, we feel that the design team of the Challenger just made more effort in giving the car more sleeker shapes and forms. Chrysler also builds these cars with a great eye for detail and marketing as they were built and could be ordered with almost any option and in any color combination, you could think of, something that was unique in those days. You could really style and design your own personal car, something the owner of this RT/SE challenger did perfectly with its 1 of 1 ever build car.

The Challenger body is unique and amazingly smooth in style, body lines, and details. With the 1970 model (the first model year) having a three-dimensional style designed front grill and a slim and sleek designed taillight section that looks mean and aggressive, we feel its one of the best car designs Chrysler, or better yet Dodge ever developed. The RT and RT/SE models also received a special rear tail light panel, unique grill details and RT emblems and special RT stripe kits and other design details. These cars were very attractive back then, just as the still are that up until today and there unique in styling and design which make them highly sought after and wanted, even now, more than 45 years later.

These cars stood out against there opponents with there unique torsion bar front suspension system, high-performance engines and transmission packages, great eye for detail in the way the cars were built and designed. Chrysler was also one of few car manufacturers, if not the only one, who painted the engine bay and trunk area in car color instead of flat black like all the others and the designed interiors and dashboards and special trim pieces that really gave the owners a special racy style feel. With things like the rally dash with tacho, rally hood, dual exhaust with dual end tips, Hurst pistol-grip shifter, race style flip off style fuel caps, high impact paint colors and much more special details.

These cars were and are just as unique as they were back then. No other car brand offered cars that were so complete that was so well designed and loaded with standard and additional options as the Chrysler group did back then. And that's what makes these cars so special and sought after up and till today. A car like this doesn't come by every day. Especially not because it is a true RT/SE and a real V code Sixpack 4 speed Dana 60 car in the most desirable color combination like this one. So if your looking for a great car that's a great investment but also can be driven and enjoyed, this might well be the car for you. The price we ask is very interesting as a "normal" RT 440-six-pack is valued at around 150k ! by Haggerty and other official appraisers, and this car.

Being a true 1 of 1 RT/SE car, and with all these additional special, extra cost options, its desirable color, and 4-speed trans, and being much rarer than a 70 RT, this car might be worth a lot more than the above estimate. And with our asking price being even way below that estimate for a normal RT. This car is very interesting to own, to invest in, and to drive and enjoy so we advise you to don't wait or hesitate to purchase it for too long, as once it sold, we can't find you another one like it.
