ENGINE

454 Cubic inch big block that was completely rebuilt with the best possible performance parts like, forged pistons and chrome moly rings, Eagle forged crank and rods that were balanced, all new Clevite bearings and new seals and gasket's, Chevy 781 Cast ported heads with all new titanium polished valve's and new comp cam springs. New 292 Comp cam camshaft and alu roller rockers, a high flow water and oil pump and a new alu Edelbrock intake with Holley 4150 Carb. It puts out 525+HP and 535 ft.lbs of torque.

The engine was topped of with an MSD electronic ignition system and a new set of headers with a complete new dual exhaust system. The engine is cooled with a new dual-row alu radiator with a p[air of new dual electric cooling fans.

DRIVETRAIN AND SUSPENSION

Pro build performance transmission TH400, with shiftkit and new hight stall converter, rebuild Chevy rear axle with new gears and 3,42 numerical rear end gears, new shafts, bearings and seals The complete suspension system was rebuilt with all new leaves, shocks, and bushings. The car is also equipped with a lowering kit to make it stand out even more and give great handling. The brake system was also rebuilt and is equipped with all new calipers, brake lines and brake pad's and a new power brake booster and hydraulic lines.

This fantastic-looking 1971 Camaro RS/SS with a very powerful 540 HP! 454cui big block and TH400 Automatic transmission. This car was completely body-off restored and is in as-new condition, we have pictures in our files as proof of that. This is a rare RS/SS car and its painted in the correct factory, rarely seen Place gold metallic paint with black vinyl top and rare Hounds tooth custom interior and factory rally dash. A real eye-catcher!


The car is absolutely loaded with all new parts and components, to much to even start listing here, but we have many pictures of the complete restoration process and all the new components. We estimate that more than 70000,- was spend in work and parts alone. 


The engine and drive line in this amazing looking car are also all new and freshly build. The car is equipped with the biggest engine Chevy ever sold in any factory car, the famous and humongous 454 Big block. The engine was pro build and now puts out an astounding 545hp ! and 535 ft.lbs ( 725 NM !) of ground pounding torque.


That power is transferred through a pro-build TH400 Automatic transmission with a new manual shift kit and 2800 rpm high stall converter. The rear axle with 3,42 rear end gears was also completely rebuilt. This car sounds amazing and is FAST !.


The 2th generation Camaro was maybe one of the best looking Camaro's ever designed with its smooth and sleek coupe lines, the beautifully designed shark nose style grill, which in case you ordered the RS package also featured amongst other details, two additional fog lights that were built in next to a special grill and the RS also received the famous split front bumpers as were the other models had a 1 piece chrome bumper.  Just a very clean and classic styled sports coupe. 

Besides the all-new body design, the chassis and suspension and steering components were also all newly designed and improved and made this all-new Camaro one of the best steering and handling muscle cars of its era. This was backed up by many leading car magazine journalists, the spoke very highly of this all-new Camaro.


Up until around 1972 the Camaro was still available with the true V8 performance engines and drive lines, starting with the 302 small-block, the 350 small-block combinations and finally the famous 396 Big block, the Camaro was still a true muscle car. And although Chevy also had a 454 cui big block in there engine stable, it was never installed in any 1th or 2nd generation Camaro, the 396 cui high-performance Big block was the biggest and highest HP output engine that was used in the SS and RS/SS models exclusively.


By 1973 the famous big block was canceled altogether as were all true performance engines due to new environmental rules in many states and of course the fuel crisis. The fact that the base design of the second generation Camaro's was more or less unchanged until the early 80's shows that its design was way ahead of its time. 


The car that we present here, however, is equipped with the famous 454 cui big block, the best and most powerful engine Chevy had back in the 70's and its an engine that we at least feel should have been installed in the Camaro RS/SS cars as it would have made these cars legendary in performance and unbeatable on the streets and even on the track. Its however still a very correct engine type for the car as its the same base design as the 396's were but only with a larger displacement and much more power. Its was also equipped with many additional aftermarket performance features and now gives a stunning 500+HP and it makes this car not only fast but also a pleasure to drive.


Its also not just any Camaro, but much money and attention was spent to make the car one of the best 2nd generation Camaro's around that was still true to its original pedigree and styling of a true Classic muscle car. With its stunning color combination and special high optioned interior, this Camaro is a one of a kind car that will give great fun and pleasure to its new future owner. Its a car that's really turn key and ready to enjoy and it will also give its future owner many thumbs up from car-fans and steel awards at any car show.
