And one of 4-5 estimated that were sold on export to Canada! And in this stunning color combination, it's for sure a 1 of one ever produced car in the world. It is also the only 383-shaker car in this color combination currently in the Shaker registry. The car is rotisserie high quality restored and completely numbers matching and come with 2 ! build sheets and its original Fender tag to prove its pedigree! You must see this car in person to understand its fantastic condition, also the color on the car looks 5x better live than on the best pictures you or we can take. It really looks amazing!
If you ever want an ultra-rare, high quality restored numbers matching, documented Mopar with a real shaker? This it!
If you appreciate quality this car is the absolute best of the best! The engine and drive train are also fully pro-rebuild and in as new condition! The car is loaded with special options and is a true RT in this color and with all these factory extra cost options it's not only super rare but also a real 1 of 1 ever built. The car is equipped with the 383-4bbl Big block and 727TF auto transmission and the famous Mopar 8 3/4 rear performance axle with lim.slip diff. Its also equipped with the extra cost opted for front wheel power disc brakes and has power steer. With the 440 magnum 4-bbl no longer available in 1971 this car was one of the fastest Challengers you could buy besides maybe the more expensive 426 Hemi, but these would cost you more than half a million euro today easily. The 383 4bbl big block car's had only 30hp less than the 440, but the 383 engines were lighter and the bore x stroke of these blocks was well balanced and had less mechanical noise. The 383 - 4bbl engine is, especially with the shaker option, on its own, a real fine performance engine that could out-perform the competition with ease. The challenger RT with 440- U code was also no longer available in 1971. A lot of people underestimate the true value of great running 383 big Block to say, a 440. The 383 is a fine and well-balanced performance machine that is really a hidden jewel in the Mopar scene.
The 71 model was the second year of the model ( also called E body ) and saw some changes against the first production year in 1970. With a more sleek grill section and other tail panel and taillights, the addition of side scoops ( RT only) and other changes, gave the Challenger a cleaner. more modern and more performance styled look. The hood with dual hood scoop's and the dual 2x2 chromed exhaust tips with special rear valance panel staid ( RT model only), but for 1971, for the first time on non HEMIor six-pack car's, you could also opt for the special Shaker hood option on the other challengers. And keep in mind that not even the Hemi or 440-6 cars had that options in their standard packages. Even on those cars, it was an extra cost option and only very few cars received the famous Shaker.
With only a total of 3800 Challengers RT's build in 1971 (against 18500 in 1970), and with only 1900 of them being the RT 383 automatic cars (against 6300 in 1970) because of the upcoming fuel crisis, these 71 cars were amongst the last true muscle cars on the market in 1971. After 1971 the big block cars were no longer available for the Challenger nor the Cuda and also the RT option was no longer available after 1971. With this car's option's and being one of approx. only 35 sold cars with a very rare Shaker option it makes this car not only rare but also highly desirable and valuable to own and enjoy.
It's estimated that a grand total of 102 RT big block challengers ( Hemi and 440-sixpack cars included ) ever had the optional Shaker hood option installed from the factory IN 1971, and today around 42 are registered and known to exist...How rare is that? The fact that its also one of only 4-5 estimated 383-Shaker cars to have been build for the Canadian market makes it even more unique as it might be the only one of its kind built. And how many of these car's do you think are left today Especially with its matching number original drive train and 2 build sheets to prove its origin? Who knows, but for sure not many, especially not in this great and restored condition. And especially in Europe you probably won't ever come across a car like this any were. So you will have the privilege to be the only car on every car show or cruise you might attend, and in its condition, you also will bring many trophy's homes with you. Its just extra fun to own a car that nobody else has.
The car has a fantastic color combination with its factory original Hemi-orange (Go mango) High impact extra cost option metallic paint and black vinyl top and its black RT stripes and black bucket seat interior. Combined with the ultra-rare Shaker hood (an extra cost option on Challengers) and RT package and its big block power, this car is a True collector car in the best sense of the word! The car supposed to have only 27.000 Original miles! And is a 95% or more original parts and body car, it never had any major changes or damages. Even the very rare steel shaker hood is an original piece and not aftermarket and that's truly amazing as most real shaker cars lost there original shakers, not this one though. All This, combined with the absolutely perfect and highly detailed restoration, makes this car a true gem and one of the best 71' Chally RT's around in the World today. Come and see it for yourself!
And although the car might seem to look like a trailer queen only, looks can be deceiving as this car drives and handle's perfectly and you can really take her out for a spin and Sunday cruise without any problems. PTTM has also performed a complete technical service and inspection and the car is ready to rumble so don't mistake it for a show the only car. This one is the real hot ticket if you want to drive and enjoy it. A restoration of this level would easily cost around 100-150k, and that's without the purchase price of the car and its import into Europe itself !. So even if you could find a true matching car with these special options and high impact Hemi orange factory color (which you, or we, probably won't), you will never buy or restore it for less than the price we ask. And with rare Mopars and muscle cars going up and up in value for the last 30+ years, this car is a very solid investment indeed.
We have recently seen a restored 1970's 383 challenger (which is produced 4x more than the '71 cars) with an added (so not factory original) shaker hood being sold at an auction for more than 125k. Which would mean that this car should be worth at least twice that when we ask for it? That's just nice to know, as changes are you might never want to sell it again. This car will grow in value for many more years to come. And with prices of the 440-6 and Hemi shaker cars going well over the 500k marker, this car is a great investment for sure. But besides driving and enjoying your investment its just nice to know in addition, that it brings you also much more than money in the bank or any other interesting investment you can make for that matter.
What's more fun than owning a car like this? Right? And keep in mind that this car was restored to the highest possible level with no costs spared. Its a great car, and we are proud to be able to offer you this car for a great price, an opportunity we can offer you, but it's up to you to decide if you take it. We can only state that this car is one of the best 71's Challengers we ever had the pleasure to offer to our clients.
